The books of the New Testament were written in Greek, and the Greek noun for peace (eirene) plus closely related adjectives (e.g., peaceful) and other nouns (e.g, peacemaker) are used over 90 times in the New Testament. Over twenty of these are in the Gospels. Most of them are spoken by Jesus.
